Immutable: He Doesn’t Change

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Stop for a moment and look around. Everything you see is a product of change. The paper you write on, the cool air from your air conditioning, the receding hairline, and the cup of coffee you’re enjoying right now.

And while change can give us a lot of good, it can also hurt us. Think of the families that were broken or the relationships that were ruined because someone changed their commitments, values and ideologies. Wouldn’t it be nice if the good things in life remain the same? Wouldn’t it be great if the people we love stay as they are?

When your life hangs by a thread and your confidence is crumbling down, you look for someone you can hold on to. Someone who is steadfast, consistent, permanent, and unchanging. Someone who will remain the same despite the changes happening around us.

Such is the nature of our God.

While everyone changes from time to time, our God stays the same. What He was a thousand years ago is still the same today. If He heard Abraham’s prayer, He’d hear us. If He performed miracles in Peter’s time, He can do the same today. He is immutable. He doesn’t change.

Join us today at Victory Caloocan as we talk about who God is. IMMUTABLE is the first installment of the four-part sermon series on the nature of God dubbed as Infinitude.

For victory group leaders, here are the materials for this week:

Shout Caloocan!

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

In less than twelve hours, something’s gonna break lose in Victory Caloocan. All the excitement and all the waiting will finally be turned into loud shouts of praise tomorrow as we do a soft launch of our new center at the 6th floor of Victory Central Mall (formal launch will be next Sunday, August 29).  As we prepare our hearts for a time of celebration, let us be reminded of an ancient song that was written in Psalms 118: 15:

Shouts of joy and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!”

With just a few hours away from our first service in the new location, I can already imagine the shouts of joy and victory that will arise from the topmost floor of the building. Caloocan is gonna resound with different expressions of worship tomorrow. We are going to declare the mighty things that the Lord has done in us, individually and as a corporate body of Christ.

Join us for the soft launch tomorrow at the 9am and 11am services. Raise your voice and celebrate with us as we honor God and give glory to Jesus alone, the source of all the blessings that we enjoy right now.

Victory Caloocan Expansions

Monday, August 16th, 2010

A lot of exciting things are taking place in Victory Caloocan these days. Barely two months after we added a new Sunday service, we are now moving to a bigger, better location. We are literally and figuratively going all the way up!

Starting this Sunday, August 22, our regular church services will be conducted at 6th floor of Victory Central Mall beside the Elorde Boxing Gym. The main hall of our new worship center has a seating capacity of over 750 people, with newly furnished rooms for kids on the sides, a slick technical booth for audio-video work stations, and a host of new features that are designed to make your church experience meaningful.

Formal launching of the new worship center will be on August 29. We will have guests from other Victory congregations joining us as we celebrate God’s favor and faithfulness in Victory Caloocan. Make sure you don’t come alone too. You could invite your family and friends to witness this milestone event for God’s church.

Coinciding with the excitement of moving to a new place is the introduction of another sermon series for Victory churches across Metro Manila. Beginning this Sunday, August 22, we will touch one of the most important topics in the Bible, the study of who God is.

The series, dubbed as Infinitude, will run for four weeks and the topics will focus on the four major characteristics of God- Immutability (unchanging), Omniscience (all-knowing), Omnipotence (all powerful), and Omnipresence (present everywhere).

Don’t miss any of these exciting events in Victory Caloocan calendar. See you all at the launch!
